In an article by Samson Helfgott on PCT and International Prosecution (AIPLA), it mentioned briefly that you do not need to provide certified copies priority documents in each country when you enter the national stage. This would seem to imply that I would not be required to provide translations of the priority documents into that country's native language.

Is my assumption true? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks,
Alan

It is the national stage country's patent office's responsibility to request the certified copy of the priority document from the international bureau if the IB does not submit the copy to the national stage country's patent office upon entry into that country.

The IB provides translation services for translating the international stage application into the correct national stage country's language.  There is no requirement to also translate a priority document.

However, the international application is often identical to the priority document.  In such a situation, the IB translation suffices as a translation for both the international application and the priority document.

Thanks JustAnotherExaminer, that is pretty clear. BTW, I have gleaned at lot of insight of an examiner's point of view, from your responses on this forum; I just wanted to say thanks.
