Letter of Suspension
« on: 04-16-04 at 08:57 am »

I have a new start up company and have plans to use a play on words for a popular statement in decorating a lot of the items.  In doing a tradename search I found the exact phrase. But... there is also an ITU claim added, followed by a letter of suspension.
Theirs appears to be a similar business - sales of similar products, although to a different market, I'm sure.

Theirs is listed as a typed drawing, Mark - words only.

Mine is artistic in design and will be inclusive of additional designs as the line grows.

What is an ITU claim?  What, exactly, does it mean that there's a letter of suspension filed?

Has the original filer abandoned the name?

Thanks for your help.

A startup may be short on cash but if you don't go under you had better pay for a solid foundation. Sleep better at night too. If you give me a call it might save us both time to get a better idea as to what you are doing. I'm  not going to charge but once we get through the preliminaries I may talk about fees. Trademarks are forever if you do them right.
