Furthering the multiple-invention application mentioned here...

... which gives a quick and easy way to get a filing date for multiple spinoff inventions in a single application (and not have to deal with it for three or so years), is the same allowable in a provisional under the new AIA?

You would lose time by doing this (1 year instead of 3), but it's even cheaper and faster. Within 12 month you decide if one of the inventions needs real prosecution by itself, and you put the remaining ones in a multiple-invention NPA to give you 3 more years to deal with it.
