intellectual property valuation
« on: 06-19-05 at 10:15 am »

Good people, I need help!! I run an intellectual property law firm in Uganda. However, our firm needs skills in intellectual property valuation in order for us to grow our business. This is particularly important for the conclusion of IP licensing / assignment agreements

I would appreciate any ideas on how one can get this training and where.

I'm going to some conference on that in San Francisco, California in late July.  That might be a good place to start, but not geographically convenient for someone in Uganda.

For more information:

If something in print is preferred, you might search BNA books for that.  Of course, it's all based on US law (as far as I know).  I don't know to what degree that's useful in Uganda.

Regards.

California is a long way out so I will pass!

Thanks alot for the info. I guess valuation of IP in most respects is based on relatively universal principles. Our patent law is quite similar to US Law with some differences ie we dont have patent pending provisions, we use first to file etc.

Any other links would be greatly appreciated,

Paul
