How to become a Patent Agent? I have PhD in Microbiology in USA, Permanent Resident of USA and 5yr bio-tech industry experience.

Step 3: go to prometric... pay fee
Step 4: pass exam... pay fee

At this time there are NO entry level positions for patent attorneys / agents unless your degree is in EE, computer science, and maybe CE.  I have a Ph.D. and 15+ years experience in biotech, plus a JD, plus state bar, plus registration to practice before the PTO.  No one is hiring -- including the PTO -- and until and unless the economy recovers, there will be no entry level jobs for someone with your background.
