If I had made a game with a distinct feature could another company come and use that feature in another game or would that be copy right infringement just wondering.

A game feature would probably NOT be protected.  To quote from the Copyright office website, copyright law protects "works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation".

If the game feature involves some specific creative expression (such as artwork), then that creative expression could be protected...  but the general idea behind the feature could still  be used in other games.

Is the "feature" something that could be patented?  You might want to talk with an IP attorney about the details of your situation before giving up on any sort of protection.  (You obviously cannot do so on this board, however -- if nothing else, doing that would be publishing the information, which would destroy any chance of protecting it in most countries.)
