Would an IP attorney who has a political science degree from Boston U (including 24 hours of physics), a law degree from Columbia, got excellent grades, and passed the patent bar exam, have a good chance of getting a job for a large, high-paying law firm in a big market such as Boston? Would a starting salary of $160k+ be out of the question, if so how much would you expect them to make?

Political science is not a real science.  24 hours of physics isn't that great for IP either.

Maybe for transactional or litigation work.  You will have to do some convincing to get a patent pros job.

This.  Except you would have almost no chance at patent prosecution, only transactional or litigation would likely be a possibility.  Passing the Patent Bar as a Class B will not help much for any position, for litigation it may help marginally.

I figured that since there was already a post on this subject I would ask the same question instead of creating a new post.

I'm an attorney (CA Bar) who graduated from a decent law school (top 20).  I'm currently working on a biology Ph.D. and doing research in chemical engineering at a university that is not well-known for its science programs.  What are my chances of getting a job anywhere and what's my likely starting salary range going to look like?  To be honest, I'd be pretty happy with $80k at this point.

Once you get your Phd, you would be pretty marketable, imho.
