transmittal form
« on: 05-25-11 at 12:32 pm »

Hi Everybody,

Do you know whether a transmittal form is requested by the US PTO for non-provisional patent application if efiling is used?  Thank you very much,

The old style transmittal letter is not required and I don't use them.  By identifying the type of each document and identifying yourself at login, and entering basic information such as the title and the first named inventor, you pretty much already submit all the material information of the traditional transmittal letter.  EFS-web does all the proper association of the filed documents with a specific application automatically.  I believe that was the primary purpose served by transmittal letters in the days of filing by paper.

Regards.
