Please advise how to find someone to help revising patent applications drafted by non native speakers and file them to USPTO.  Renumeration is provided.  Limited experience with patent prosecution is ok, as the apps are well-written but require someone to touch up the wordings.

The nature of this job is that such work do come up quite often but not always, so I think the best people would either be those doing their law school or currently unemployed but trying to look for full time positions elsewhere.

Your advice is appreciated,
Lam

You will actually probably be better off with someone with more experience, but then, they will cost more, but I think you will be able to find someone near your price range, from your earlier post.  Patents written by non-English speakers often have to be completely re-drafted before they are anywhere near acceptable to the USPTO.  This is sometimes the case even with patents written by those who are perfectly fluent in English.

Finally, you have to have someone with a USPTO registration number looking over and signing the patent application, you cannot just simply submit them to the USPTO (unless you are the inventor themself/themselves), the USPTO won't even look at the patent application.  Someone without even a USPTO number, which include the vast majority of law students and unemployed, will not be helpful.

It is quite easy finding those with a USPTO registration number, the USPTO publishes them, and many, though not most, law firms have someone with a USPTO registration who would be happy to help.

Lam:  there are firms (mine, for example) that do this type of work.  If you want to discuss, send me a PM and we can talk.

This post is not legal advice.  I am not your attorney.  You rely on anything I say at your own risk. If you want to reach me directly, send me a PM through the board.  I do not check the email associated with my profile often.
