I have the next fb, but i'm no mark
« on: 05-21-11 at 11:18 pm »

Hello all,

I believe that I have developed an idea which has the potential to become the largest social network of the 21st century. I unfortunately am not able to design and code such a website by myself. To be honest, I would rather pass it on to a developer and have some of the shares generated from my idea. I really believe that my idea will take social network and social network interaction to the next level. I am eager to see my idea come to life.

Anyways, what should I do now in terms of protecting my idea and seeking inventors? Should I copyright it and then try to auction the idea off?

I would very much appreciate any help that this forum is able to offer me.

Sincerely
Westford Joseph

A few possibilities:
1. Do some patent searching to see if your idea has been covered already.
2. Get a patent application drafted by someone competent and file it with the USPTO.
3. Do some networking to find software engineers interested in such a project, and have them sign an NDA before going over details.

Or,
4. Get that patent application on file, and then go talk to Facebook/Myspace/LinkedIn
