Hello,

I know someone who has a patent pending invention,

in the US.

Since I live in Canada, I was hoping to copyright the proces (Which I've changed drastically including materials, a lot less materials),

and sell it as a book.

Can I do that?

You can copyright the book, not the process.  Anyone else can write their own book on the same process, as long as they don't copy yours.  And, neither you or any other author of a book describing the process, without more (e.g., a patent), can stop anyone from practicing the process -- no more than an author of a cook book can stop you from cooking.

Sorry it's not better news.
