Interesting little article on the rise in recognized value of patents and how small players are able to take on larger, more established players -- referring to the recent Sony and Toshiba cases.

Sony to pay $90.7million to Immersion of San Jose, CA for patent infringing tactile feedback game controllers.

Toshiba to pay $465.4million (another $1/2 billion IP award?! Yep!) to Lexmar Media, Inc. for trade secret misappropriation.  Interestingly, this isn't a patent case -- expanding the realm of huge awards to another type of IP.
