The 1709 Blog announced the news that a Spanish parliamentary committee rejected the proposal for a new law that protects even better the copyright holders from unauthorized use of content on the web.
The so-called Sinde Bill named after Minister of Culture of Spain Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde intended to create a special government committee to gather information about web sites offering illegal content, then that information is transmitted to the courts to impose penalties .
This proposal for a new law was very strongly criticized by Internet users in Spain according to which it is directly limit freedom of expression. http://intellectualpropertyplanet.blogspot.com/2010/12/spain-rejected-law-prosecute-offenders.html
