The Madrid Protocol now applies to Greenland
« on: 11-18-10 at 02:30 am »

In 1995 Denmark joined the Madrid Protocol for the Registration of Marks. The instrument of accession, however, mention that it does not apply to Greenland and the Faroe Islands which are under the control of Denmark.

From the link: "In 1995 Denmark joined the Madrid Protocol for the Registration of Marks. The instrument of accession, however, mention that it does not apply to Greenland and the Faroe Islands which are under the control of Denmark.
Now WIPO reported the news that Denmark has made a declaration which states that the Madrid Protocol already applies in the territory of Greenland. Protocol enters into force for the country by January 11, 2010.
The Faroe Islands, however, he still will not apply."

I don't know about all of you but I will certainly be sleeping better tonight knowing that the Madrid protocol still does not apply to the Faroe Islands.
