I am running a Chinese law firm. There are 70+ colleagues working together in our Beijing office.
My firm have the full license of IP service and Litigation service in China.
I will very appriciate your help if you can give me some advice.

The value would probably be some multiple of net profit (after paying salaries of everyone who will stay and paying all overhead) plus accounts receivable that haven't aged more than a reasonable amount of time minus any liability for unresolved claims (e.g., negligence claims, billing disputes).

The multiple would depend on the multiple of similar firms but the buyer would probably want it to pay for itself in 10 years or so (e.g., value equals 10x annual net profit).

I'm not an expert in Chinese businesses but that's the way I'd look at buying any business.

Some further questions:
1. It must be different to buy a law firm than to buy a common business firm. So, can you give some information on how to value a law firm?
2. I think there will be lots of IP law firms who want own an IP law firm in China, so they can handle their client's application more directly. Am I right?
