Are you from the yesterday class? I hear talk non-stop all day about people who aren't happy with the job. 50% of the examing corps would jump on another job if the offer was in hand and comparable (+/-20K-30K) in salary.

This is not my experience; the new people I know are mostly pretty happy with the job. Of course, most people are happy with any job with the economy being busto. imo, it's the people who have been on board for a few years who are most likely to jump ship.

We went out to lunch (happy hour) for an examiner leaving. He said he he didn't feel right rejecting applicants. So I'm sure they might look for 1 resume out of 3000. or 4000 whatever that ridiculous number was.. Cheesy

Is this one of the guys from the new July 09 class? I heard talk that one of 'em wasn't happy with the job.

8/18/08 class. I pumped about the job. If you stick it out long enough your docket becomes a goldmine and with the new count system OT becomes manageable and sweet.

Please stop and take your flame war somewhere else.

Even better, they could sleep on it and decide to be gentlemen, and then use that fun little option provided to "REMOVE" their flame war.
Gentlemen, gentlemen, you can't fight in here!  This is the war room!

As I've discussed before, you must be in one of those low RCE, low BD arts. In fact, there is a rumor that they might adjust the high BD arts standard 2 hour adjustment. Remember, there are AUs that have a GS-12 BD of 32-33 hours. A 2 hour adjustment is nothing to them (1 hour per count---6% difference while losing 12.5-25% on RCEs).

On the other hand there are arts with a GS-12 BD of 15 hours. In that case, a 2 hour adjustment is huge (13.33% difference).

That's funny - for some reason the first two times I read your post above, my brain inserted an imaginary word "this" as in, "imo, it's the people who have been on this board for a few years who are most likely to jump ship"...

What about high RCE, low BD arts?

Then you are still better off than high RCE, High BD arts. AUs have high BDs for a reason.

Has anybody who applied a few weeks ago heard anything back from the PTO? Curious to know if you applied online or sent your app. via email? When do you think we'll hear back? I sent via email, but don't remember if there's a way to check the status of our app?

There's a posting on the uspto website that has a list of dates of when to expect responses.

http://www.uspto.gov/patents/applicants_forthcoming.jsp

Seems like it's going pretty quick, but if you want to know specifically about your application you can call or email HR.

Yeah...call/email HR and get a call/email back within 168 hours...seems to be standard with them.

Did you check your application on usajobs.gov?  My application was updated last Wednesday to show that I had met the minimum requirements for the job.
