Yeah, I think you made the right choice for a number of reasons.

Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Yale law carries  the rep in IP that it does elsewhere.  A Yale JD is a Yale JD and everybody knows it's the hardest law school to get into.  It's just that I don't think that many of the leaders in IP law have Yale JDs and the school's grads are not known for going into IP.  It might also be that Stanford's excellence in technical subjects as well as law, not to mention its location at the center of the technological universe, probably enhances its reputation among IP professionals beyond Yale's. 

Not to mention Palo Alto is a way better place to spend 3 years than New Haven.
