My guess is that if you took out the money and "prestige" factor of being a lawyer, the law schools would empty out.

I would agree that is how it should work, but it is amazing how that is still not the case.  Considering how many heavily-indebted, unemployed, scum-sucking-bottom-feeder recent grads law schools are churning out, applicants law schools are still getting record number of apps.

I sat next to a girl on the EL yesterday who was studying for the LSAT.  I told her to check out this great LSAT test-prep website called abovethelaw.  I felt like I accomplished something that day.

Better get back to my volunteer job before my boss threatens to blackball me out of the legal community

Weee-ooow.  The story on the Mintz,Levin 2010 grads deferrals is painful.  Deferred to 2012 with a $2500/mo stipend, BUT the stipend doesn't start until April 2011.  And they can take a $15K salary advance now that will be taken out of their 2012 salary (if/when).  The writer of the article suggested "Let’s just say that 2010 graduates waiting for a job at Mintz Levin should strongly consider driving a cab or something. "

I know it's too late Petethenobody, but in future I recommend a stronger dose of reality for lemmings like the one you encountered on the train.

But the names of those are too transparent, and I can't pass them off as LSAT test prep sites. 

I think I'll say that those are "money management" sites.  I like that idea.
