For the UK exams there is one major source of information: the Black Book. That should contain sufficient references to the major case law.

The black book? Is there an author? Sounds interesting!

I don't know what the law schools in the UK are like.  Here in the U.S., the ones I've seen allow outsiders to use their law libraries for certain limited purposes.  There are also federally funded "depository" law libraries that are required to allow access by the public:

You might try checking with your local law schools to see what their policies are.

Cornell's web site is a good place for free information.

A law school librarian can be a lot of help too.

Some state bars give attorneys free access to pay databases.  In your case, you can find a law student willing to help you, they will have access to Lexis or Westlaw or you pay for access.

Deepak, you might want to take your spambot detector in for adjustment.

Piqued my curiosity, too.  Found this through a google search:

" CIPA Guide to the Patents Acts [The 'Black Book'] The standard text on UK patent law and practice for practising attorney. Published by Sweet & Maxwell. ..."  (CIPA=Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, apparently)

Deepak, you might want to take your spambot detector in for adjustment.
Am I blind to the spam, or was it removed?

This post is an off-the-cuff musing and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. THERE IS NO ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN US. Proper legal advice requires full disclosure of facts-not appropriate to a public forum-and attorney research time and effort which has not been expended here.

It was reported and removed.  Note the several-month gap in posting in this thread.  The spambot resurrected it and Deepak responded to the spambot.
