I fall within the grey area of Category B (Computer Science from University of Maryland, College Park).  I did not take chemistry or physics courses.  When I called the PTO, I did not get any useful information.

I know that if I want to take the patent bar, I will have to take two sequential chemistry or physics courses.  My problem is that attempting to take the patent bar only makes sense if I only have to take two courses.  If I have to complete the requirements under options 1,2 or 3, then it just does not make sense (I do not want to spend the next couple of years completing 24-40 hours of course work).

So, when your application is rejected, does the PTO provide good feedback?  Do you they tell you what you actually require to sit for the bar exam?

Each time an application is submitted, is it reviewed independently from the prior application?  For example, would I run into the situation where the first time I apply and get rejected, I am told that I only need to take two physics classes.  But then after completing these classes I apply again, and I am told that I need to complete the requirements stated under option 1,2 or 3?

I assume if my application is rejected, I will get my $200 exam fee back, correct?

Thanks everyone.

No chemistry or physics courses = you will not qualify.
