translating a scientific paper from c.1900

Hello,

I would like to translate a paper form a German scientific journal
published around 1910, and possible put a translation online for
non-commercial purpose (a science site devoted to topic discussed
in the paper).

I assume that this should be legal, as 100 years passed since the
original was published.

Am I right in my assumption? Thanks for help!
