any regrets and job turnover and general advice?

just curious if there are any PhD patent agents/attorneys who regret making the move to law and forever "banning" themselves from the world of research.  

what is the average "tenure" of a patent agent/attorney with a single firm?  in other words, what's the job stability like?

i'll be graduating with a PhD in immunology in the near future.  any advice/suggestions/discouragements in possibly seeking a job in patent law?
