Have JD/BSME, how much would a BSEE or MSEE help ?

Mid 30's 6 years experience in Patent. Mainly small boutiques.

Thinking about going back to school at night for either BSEE or MSEE.
I'm reading that the MSEE and BSME on my resume would stand out a lot.

It is isn't it. I mean yeah, how can it hurt, EE seems to be the shitz in prosecution (along with Bio tech). But will this translate into real world benefits, who knows.

BTW, 6 yrs experience, how's the boutique world looking? Layoffs?

Hi - it's the weekend and you may have unknowingly stumbled into some topic fatigue as well.  Go up a level to this board's main section (link - http://www.intelproplaw.com/ip_forum/index.php/board,22.0.html) then in the search box in the upper right corner type in MSEE and search. 

You should find a couple of pages worth of threads discussing the desirability of MSEE over MSCS, MSME, etc.  And at least one I recall pointing out that at many schools, already having a BSME should let you jump into the MSEE program (vs. starting at BSEE) with maybe a pickup class here/there, but overall saving you about 2 years.

And you might want to repeat the search at this similar board (link - http://www.intelproplaw.com/ip_forum/index.php/board,23.0.html) which is the Patent Agent/Lawyer Careers board, because I think the topic's come up frequently there, too.  (Possible the discussion of jumping in at MSEE was on this board instead).
