Would it help?
« on: 10-24-09 at 07:36 pm »

For those who are patent agents without experience, would utilizing books that teach claim drafting be of any benefit? Granted this would not seem to cover other aspects (gained with experience) that are needed to be a competent practitioner, but would it be a worthwhile endeavor until a job comes along?  ???

Anything to keep your skills up and show that you are actively interested in the field is helpful.

I agree that every little bit helps, particularly if you combine it with a job search that includes lots of informational interviews with practicing attorneys, agents, etc.  Practicing by the book will help you pick up the terminology and the people you talk to will notice and appreciate your effort.

Good luck!
