Hello,  I have a basic question.  How does on go about copyrighting a website?

Dear Nick,
The content of the website must include a proper copyright notice. A UCC copyright notice enalble constructive notice to the public that there is a copyright. Enforcement requires a registration of the copyright.
It would be advisable to to select a email address that identifies the website that is also registerable as a trademark.
Registerablity of the trademark depends on the way it is used. Pre trademark, searching before you get the web address is advisable so that a trademark on the name is compatable with the domain name, to maximize protection.
