Patent Bar Exam Fees
« on: 09-24-09 at 05:42 pm »

Does anyone know whether the non-refundable $40 application fee and the refundable $200 registration fee for Category A applicants need to be paid in a single cashier's check or two separate cashier's checks?  I cannot find this in the bulletin.

Thank you.

Also, I believe they take personal checks.  Spare yourself the fee for a cashier's check.  Confirm with OED.  Or easier still, pay by credit card (att the proper form).

They "accept" personal checks, but it is not the ideal form of payment.  It says so on page 13 of the general requirements bulletin:

"All payments of money required for the USPTO fees must be made in U.S. dollars and in the form of a cashier's or certified check, Treasury note, or United States Postal Service money order. If sent in any other form (including personal checks), the Office may delay or cancel the credit of the payment until collection is made."

Lukertin, I don't know how you did it.  I'm going to send a cashier's check just to be safe.  Don't mind paying the fee.

Thank you all.
