Hi all, I am starting as a first year associate soon at a patent firm and am curious as to how patent litigation work has been going lately. I know we seemed busy when I left last summer, but amidst the economic recession and mass layoffs at firms, I am curious as to what I will be walking into soon.

Are most people in the practice area busy, or is there no work?  Any insight would help stem my curiousity.  Thank you all in advance.

Much thanks!

There is work.

If you get a chance to get some patent litigation experience, take it.  It is more likely to be full fee than fixed fee, though some clients still try to put the screws to their firms.
