I;m sure you've answered this one...Can a slogan be protected by patent or copyright/trademark?  Slogan to be marketed to prospective users on apparel, novelties, etc.

United States Copyright Office regulations do not allow for copyright registration on “short phrases,” "titles" and “slogans.”

United States Patent and Trademark Office may register a slogan if it being used to identify the source of goods or services.

The type of law you are looking for is:  Trademark Law.  As recommended by IPAttorney777 the relevant section @ www.uspto.gov is informative (and so are many other sites you can find via Google, and so are the various threads in the Trademark section of this board).

It is hypothetically possible that design patents could also be used to help you reinforce protection related to branding as well.  A design patent is different than a utility patent (which is usually referred to simply as a 'patent'), and it typically offers relatively narrow protection for the ornamental/aesthetic, non-functional design of a functional product (a shirt, for example).
