Extending a patent
« on: 02-11-09 at 07:31 am »

Hi There,

I am the owner of a Brazilian patent and would like to know how to get protection for my invention in the UK
Someone tells me it is not possible to patent my design in the Uk after 12 months of the patent been approved in Brazil

Is this so and if so what are my options for protection for my invention in the UK.

Any help would be much appreciated

Patents cannot be extended or renewed.  Sorry.

And, the 12 months is from your original application filing date, not the date your patent was granted.

Regards.
