Patent bar fees in effect?

Does anyone have any idea if the PTO is now extort..errr...I mean accepting bar maintenance fees from us.  Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you.

I haven't seen any communication yet from the PTO.  Is this something the undersecretary will have to deal with?

I personally think they are a great idea.  There are far too many on the agent/attorney search who never have/never will practice.
