"Rainmaking" (How To)
« on: 02-03-09 at 12:14 pm »

I am going to be starting out soon as an agent.  I have a small firm who is willing to work with me and it is all very congenial.  I have lots of industry experience as an inventor but this is a career change.

Still, it looks good.

The snag is, I have to learn a bit of "rainmaking" because that's what my position is going to ultimately depend upon.  I will not be on my own -- the Senior Partner is going to carry a lot of the load, but that doesn't mean I can just sit back and smile.

What, beyond ordinary "learn to be a salesman" literature, exists?

Are there one or more classic texts on this topic?  Well-known courses?
