: If Company A chose to use a Company B's name as one of the meta tags on it's web site is it breaking any law?

: Is this affected if Company B's name is not a registered trade mark?

: Any information would be appreciated.

Dear Iain Millar,

The law is never so absolute that raw fact can be dealt with intellilgently. Registration only effects the choice of law and the expanse of rights. The main questions are liklihood of confusion and priority of use and unfair competition. There may be questions of interstate use.
