Dear Iain Millar, The law is never so absolute that raw fact can be dealt with intellilgently. Registration only effects the choice of law and the expanse of rights. The main questions are liklihood of confusion and priority of use and unfair competition. There may be questions of interstate use. M. Arthur Auslander
