The name of the firm "Polis" has been registered and uses a number of trademarks and service marks in connection with its business, particularly the trade name and registered trademark "Polis". This trademark is prominently featured on their web site and their domain name (www.polis.com). : My company is a authorized distributor for this firm and is in the business of selling their widgets both new and used. : Again, let's suppose that "Polis" has a widget and the name of the widget is "981045". : In my effort to market the products I sell, I purchase the domain names "www.polis981045.com" and "www.usedpolis981045.com" to be incorporated into my online catalog. These pages contain my letter head and our own inhouse descriptions and pricing for the widget. : The main URL for my companies web page is "mycompany.com". This is the lead page for my site.....this site hyperlinks to the "www.polis981045.com" and "www.usedpolis981045.com" sites which I have just purchased and incorporated within my catalog. : The motive for purchasing these domain names is to increase traffic to my site via search engine results on the widgets we are marketing. My companies competition is also buying similar URL derivitives of the manufacturer and its products. : Question: HAVE I VIOLATED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CONCERNS of the well-known and registered trademark "Polis". Does this constitute intentional trademark infringement?
