Dear Mr. Scales,

Trademarks become registerable based upon use. They may be reserved by filing proposed use applications.

It is not wise to adopt a trademark until it has been searched. Applications may be rejected and there is also the anger of being and infringer.

The same rules apply to slogans.

All trademarks must be associated with goods or services.
