I have an application in progress for a servicemark. I have submitted a logo
as my specimen and the "drawing type" is
"Stylized words, letters.."

am I correct in assuming that, if this application becomes a registered mark, it will only protect the use of the logo, and not the use of the word itself?

if so, is my next course of action to file another application for the wordmark only?

I'm new at this, so I'm a bit fuzzy on such specifics.
