Thank you all for your help in this matter. As I said, I am a site evaluator and do not use trademarks on my own site. Obviously I'm not going to hire a lawyer to evaluate trademarks on a site I'm evaluating.

I have now decided to accept sites with old or current trademarks as long as they claim no affiliation with the product or service represented and that they acknowledge the holder of the trademark. Of course, I will also state that it would be best to seek out a lawyer about trademark use just to cover my own a** :)
