: hi : i have a great idea and would like to license it thru the nfl and or nba. i am familiar with the nfl application process and i am sure the NBA is similar. but my question is, what if i am denied by the NFL or NBA after i apply, can they take MY idea and use it? if so, what can i do about it? how can i protect myself, if i even can? any info is appreciated. : thank you Dear Liz, The abstract answer is, that if you can off the end result, without giving away the farm. You may be safe. I doubt if they would take a confidential disclosure from you. It they would there might be some protection. A patent might be the way too, if applicable. It is not easy to get a broad patent that fully protects a concept. M.
