A few years ago I wrote a small windows game, which is free, called 'Yahtzee for Windows'. This game has been very sucessful, resulting in a high demand. I have received an email from Hasbro today, demanding that I remove all reference to the game from the internet (where it can be downloaded to install on the individuals PC), within 10 days, else they will take further action. Can anyone tell me what I can do, ie. name change (one which still sounds familiar maybe?), and also where I stand if the game is being hosted on a web site not owned by me, and which I have no authority over. What can Hasbro do about this? Also, is the actual game trademarked? or just the name 'Yahtzee'? (surely you can't trademark a game like yahtzee?, maybe tic-tac-toe is trademarked too!)
