Abandoned Trademark

I have applied for an abandoned trademark. The current status states: Abandoned: Applicant failed to respond to an Office action. That was as of 5/6/02. The trademark they filed was for was dated 7/23/01. I am not filing for the same Goods or Services but,I am filing for the same name. There is a Prosecution History with th efollowing information: 9/18/01 Case file assigned to examining attorney. 9/20/01 Non Final action mailed. 5/6/02 Abandonment-Failure to respond. Does this look promising or did I apply for something that was actually unavailable in the first place? It also states that the current location is MRS-TMO Law Office 114- Review And Amendment. This date was as of 12/10/02.
