Hello Mr. Auslander,

I agree with you to 100% . When you want to register a mark, even as a word or picture or combined mark I would to research if this is used by someone else. But my answer to the first posting was only " directed " in the meaning
of " should he or should he not ".
There are several companies and lawyers who can make a trademark research - and even if you want to register a mark in more countries everyone would be on the safe side with a trademark research.
