Pending trademarks

I work for an advertising agency and need to know the correct phraseology for legal copy at the end of an ad. I know what to say if something is registered as a trademark, but what if it is a PENDING trademark. Do I simply say "xyz is a pending trademark of zzz Technologies, Inc.", for example? Thanks for any help!
