The protection of a Band name is with a Service Mark. The cost is not as important as doing it right. It must be searched for safety of use. The Goverment Filing fee is $325 per trademark application class. It is not expensive but not inexpensive. When you realize that trademarks are forever, the importance of being sure that it is done right is more important than the cost. There are followups too that have to be watched, to avoid routine legal cancellation of valid marks. Give us a call. We can explain the whole picture. Copyrights on the music and the performance are good for life plus 70 years or 95 years. Trademarks are forever. I use a shave lotion with a 200 year old trademark. M.
