: is it possible/prudent to license a trademark to be used within another mark? That is, owner of mark A licenses to B so that B can integrate Mark A into B's logo. Would the "integrated" mark (B's mark) need to identify with tm, sm or circle-r, A's mark within the total of B's mark?

Dear gba,

The prudence come from understanding the law and facts. It is not clear what you want. Trademarks mainly exist as applied to particular goods or services. There is an antidilution statute not to cope with.

There are no clear answers to abstract questions.
