Hello!

I've developed an algorithm for compressing computer files (binary data) (i'm sure that this algorithm isn't allready in use).

I'm wondering if i can patent it, about how much it will cost, & about the liscensing.
I was considering seeking a patent lawyer, is that a good idea, and if anybody knows about how much do one of those people cost (as you can see, i'm not on the biggest budget)...
