: : : I was wondering how I could go about patenting something? I'm not to good on the computer so if you could e-mail me it would be most helpful. Thank. I`M a master mechanic ,and own a servic station. I have thought of the most perfect tool : in the automotive service repair.I need only inf- : ormation on selling my idea, not investing! : Thank you : Mr.Joe Rabin If you disclose or use the invention before a patent application is filed, you lose valid patent rights in the rest of the world. Even if you have a great tool the odds on being able to sell it are even worse without a patent. Just having a patent does not assure that you have the protection that is necessary. I've done a lot of work in your area, I know. I am not saying that you have a lost cause but it must be done right. I start my clients with a Reality Check which goes into what can be done even without a patent. You can't just sit back and expect the world to beat a path to your door. You also have to protect youself against the 100M a year scam making great promises to inventors and collecting their money. M.
