Patents are expensive and there is no assurance that an issued patent is going to give the protection that you need. I do and inexpensive Reality Check first to save money and give the whole picture. The answer to your questions is yes but it makes no sense unless you understand what you have and what you are doing. Do show or tell until a patent application is filed. It's more than bad luck.
