Unfortunately the information while free does not contain the legal meaning that an understanding of the law provides. Even if you could figure out how to apply for a patent, the information is worthless unless you understand the subtleties of the law and learn the legal techniques of drafting a patent application that might stand up in court in the event of an infringement. It is not hard to get a patent. It is not easy to get a GOOD patent. There are often inexpensive alternative. I start with a "Reality Check". It may save time, money, and worry.
