Basically, I have this great idea that does X. I see a patent pending that does Y, which is a sub-set of X. The cliams, or specifications of how, to do Y are a bit different than my idea of how to do X. Is my idea to do X still patentable? What if my idea actaully only covered Y, meaning both ideas do the same thing, is my idea still patentable if it does it in a radically different way? thanks for your time
