I presume you want rights to exclude others from exploiting your idea without your permission. The mechanism for that is the patent system. The first step in the process (and the biggest and most difficult) is to file a patent application. The cost with respect to the US Patent and Trademark Office starts at around $400. The cost to have someone help you prepare the patent application varies widely -- depending more on the complexity of the idea and the amount of help rather than on the particular skill and/or integrity of the people helping you.
