Non-ABA accredited school posted by cal on June 27, 2003 at 07:19:25: If by execute patents you mean patent prosecution (i.e. writing a patent and responding to office actions), you don't even have to go to law school. Hence, whether the school is accredited or not doesn't make a difference. However, if you ever want to do more than just patent prosecution like licensing or litigation, it would be advisible to attend an ABA accredited law school. If the law school isn't accredited, you may not be able to take the bar exam depending on the state. Moreover, graduating from an accrediated school is a way to avoid the problem should you decide to pratice in another state later on in your career. : Does it make a difference whether I go to either school if all I wanted to do was execute patents in the U.S.? Much thanks! Cal.
